Benjamin Hochart (born in 1982, Seclin, France) lives and works in Aubervilliers. He embraces the influence of comics, science fiction, folk art, outsider art and fibre art, which accompany a practice based on the non-hierarchy of genres and idioms. His work uses various media, implying multiple readings that attempt to disrupt the established order of things and explore the political potential of fringe culture, both popular and underground.
Benjamin Hochart’s work has been the subject of numerous solo show especially at The Drawer, Paris; galerie M.&T. de la Châtre, Paris; Le Granit, Belfort; Institut Français, Stuttgart; White Hotel, Brussels.
